Center for Global Engagement

The Center for Global Engagement was established in April 2022 in the KMU tower. In order to expand the scope of conventional operations of the Center for International Exchange and fulfill our social and international mission. The Center consists of four divisions: the International Exchange and Education, the International Research, the International Public Relations, and the International Medical Support. The Center works to create a site for education and exchanges with exceptional individuals around the world, to promote innovative research leading to joint international research, collaboration between industry and academia, and the creation of intellectual property, to actively and strategically conduct international PR activities to help improve KMU’s global standing, and to contribute internationally through international cooperation in healthcare and the spread of medical technology.

Message from the Director

International exchange at Kansai Medical University (KMU) started in 1992. Now that we have entered the era of globalization, KMU is greatly expanding its horizons overseas to accept excellent human resources mainly from other Asian countries and provides them with cutting-edge medical and healthcare education and research guidance, hoping that they will contribute to the development of their home countries. Meanwhile, in order to encourage the younger generation of Japanese people to gain more overseas experience, it encourages and supports undergraduate students in participating in overseas clinical training, as well as faculty in studying abroad.

In 2014, I became the first Director of the Center for International Exchange. Subsequently, in 2022, the Center for Global Engagement was established in the KMU Tower to develop global activities. From now on, we will promote not only personnel exchanges but also a wide range of activities, such as the development of the International Graduate School, the introduction of a double-degree program, joint international research, international medical support including inbound tourists, and improvement of our standing in the World University Rankings. With the motto “The world is our stage,” we aim to be a university open to the world.
