Double Degree Agreement Signing Ceremony with Politecnico di Torino (Italy)

President Kinashi gives an introduction to the University

On Monday, May 6th, at 10:30 AM local time, a signing ceremony for the double degree agreement between Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and our university was held at Castello del Valentino in Turin, Italy.

Politecnico di Torino and our university have been in an academic exchange agreement since April of last year. This new double degree program allows doctoral students from both universities to study abroad at the partner university for approximately one year during their enrollment. They will conduct research and write a dissertation, and if they pass the examination, they will be awarded degrees from both universities.

President Tatsuo Kinashi attended the signing ceremony locally with President Stefano Paolo Corgnati of Politecnico di Torino, and both signed the agreement. Also in attendance from our university were Koichi Tomoda, Director of the Center for Global Engagement, and Hirofumi Hitomi, Director of Education, Graduate School of Medicine.

On Tuesday, May 7th, at 9:30 AM local time, a roundtable discussion was held to discuss joint research between the two universities. In addition to the three attendees present locally, Tomoyuki Nakamura, Professor of Pharmacology, Kazu Okuma, Professor of Microbiology, and Koichiro Higasa, Professor at the Laboratory for Genome Analysis of the Institute of Biomedical Science, participated online from Japan.
