On Friday, September 8, at 5:00 p.m., the Presentation on the Overseas Clinical Elective/Observation Program Report took place at Katano Auditorium on the Hirakata Campus, attracting approximately 140 participants.
The event began with an opening remark by President Tatsuo Kinashi, followed by a presentation titled “The Stage to the World” by Koichi Tomoda, Director of the Center for Global Engagement. Director Tomoda highlighted the overseas achievements of KMU graduates and their contributions to the global medical field.
Then the sixth-year students who had completed clinical training in various countries—including Canada, Malaysia, Lithuania, and Germany—delivered presentations in English. They shared insights into their training experiences at foreign hospitals, interactions with colleagues and senior doctors, cultural differences that surprised them, and how they spent their free time.
During the Q&A session, students in the audience asked practical questions such as “What should I prepare before studying abroad?” The presenters offered valuable advice on language improvement, medical English proficiency, and pre-departure preparations.
The event concluded with a general commentary by Dean Kazunari Kaneko of the Faculty of Medicine, followed by closing remarks from Professor Breugelmans of the Department of English Studies.
